Take a hit

Each member of our family has been caught burying their nose in Annie's fur and taking a big sniff. We were not expecting her smell to be so lovely and relaxing to us. I always thought that a dog would stink; just another misconception my brain had about dogs.

What I have come to find out is that the smell of Annie is like perfume, related only to the smells of my babies' heads up until they were about 8 years old. Sniffing their sweet little heads and necks was like aromatherapy for me and my sister would call it, "taking a hit". 

Now the smell of Annie is intoxicating, relaxing, necessary and I must daily bury my nose into the furry spot right by her ears and take my own hit.
